Honey Glazed Salmon

Honey burns quickly, so lower the heat once the glaze hits the pan and keep spooning it over the salmon as it turns sticky.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sesame oil, optional
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Green onions and sesame seeds

Method

  1. 1

Whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, ginger, sesame oil, and pepper.

  2. 2

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon and sear for 3–4 minutes.

  3. 3

Flip the salmon and reduce heat to medium. Pour the honey mixture around the salmon.

  4. 4

Simmer for approximately 3–5 minutes, repeatedly spooning the glaze over the fish as it thickens.

  5. 5

When the salmon is cooked and the sauce has become sticky and glossy, remove from heat.

  6. 6

Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Flavor Table Tip: Honey burns quickly. Once the glaze goes into the pan, lower the heat and watch it carefully.
